Setting it up took 10 seconds. I plugged the connector onto a USB port in my computer, removed the plastic sticker that ensure the batteries did not drain from both the keyboard and the mouse and I started enjoying my keyboard.

I know I have heavy fingers, so this keyboard is good for people that type hard as the keys are sturdy but still quiet.
This is probably the 4 or 5th time I buy the same keyboard (I have the same in my office at work and in my second computer). It makes it easy to move from one computer to the other without having to re-adapt to a new keyboard.
The battery life is also quite reasonable. It lasts so long that I never know when was the last time I changed the batteries (well over 1 year).
I like it very much and I recommend it.

They function keys are nice. I don't use all of them, mainly the volume controls. I do wish it had a volume control like the logitech keyboard this replaced which was a dial as I feel that has more control than a button but it works well so no complaints. The only annoyance I have with the keyboard is the NUM LOCK key which I keep hitting for some reason when using the number pad. Minor gripe, and probably just me.
So the mouse.... I love it. I like a heavy mouse. Not everyone does but I do. This mouse takes 2 AA size batteries and it lasts 4-6 months on a set even in an office setting so that is nice. I don't turn it off either, it just goes to sleep.
Another thing I like about the mouse is the function buttons on the side. I originally bought the set to use with gaming. I like the function button on the side to use as a "push-to-speak" button. It was hard to find a comfortable mouse that had that feature on it. Again, the Logitech mouse this set replaced had that feature so I searched a long time to find a mouse that had it.
This is a great all-around keyboard and mouse combo. The price of the two together is great for the quality you get. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a general do everything set. Can you game with it? Yeah. Its not pro status but it works well. Can you type all day on it? Yep and you don't get strain as easy thanks to the key design and the built in palm rest.
The keyboard is full-size. It is embedded in a case that is deeper than the HP because it includes a wider, more comfortable wrist rest. This is covered in a pleasantly tactile dimpled material and works very well for me--with somewhat small hands for a man. The ergonometrics include a qwerty keyboard where the keys are set in a wave of changes in elevation to reflect the longer length of one's middle finger while providing for the reaching distance between lines of keys. There is a moderate arc to the set of the keys that is not as extreme as the true ergo board, which is more of a vee-shape. Keys operate with a springy, positive action, requiring a definite touch and not being too sensitive. The result is a board that is easy and comfortable to use, as I do, for serious spells of writing. There are twelve programmable function keys and clear instructions for setting them up plus buttons for 'insert', 'print screen', pause/break and rocking controls to zoom in and out on pages. The top edge of the board has a tilted panel with sound and track controls and is optimized to work with Windows Media Center. A single button brings up a calculator. There are other buttons I am less likely to use and have not investigated. One of them brings up Windows desktop gadgets or settings and another opens Windows Photo Gallery. A large button off the keyboard near the shift and control keys permits application switching for users having 'SetPoint' software.
I have always liked Logitech's optical mouse. They have improved its wireless transmitter, making it a small, rectangular plug-in module, that takes up next to no room on a desk or work table; transmits signals very well and stays out of the way. My earlier version was embedded in a round case about three inches in diameter and got in the way from time to time. Logitech calls this new device a 'Unifying Receiver' and explains it a bit on page 14 of the Operator's Manual. Basically, this is a plug-in and forget it type of device. The mouse is made of quality materials and feels good in the hand.
The users at our house--my wife and our grandchildren included--really like this package!
Top reviews from other countries
The set arrived promptly, in fact one day earlier than originally promised.
Setup was easy, and everything worked straight out of the box; additional software, with extra functionality, such as redefining mouse buttons and keyboard buttons was quickly downloadable from Logitech, as were plug-ins for my web browsers that enable "smooth" scrolling - which seems to be a pixel line at a time, rather than a character line at a time - a nice visual effect.
The mouse is nicely shaped, at least for my hand, and the buttons fall nicely under the appropriate fingers. Cursor control is smooth and precise. There is an on/off switch on both mouse and keyboard bottoms; I have not used them, and so far the keyboard is functioning normally, but the mouse batteries died rather quickly. I am now testing the time the second set lasts, to see if it is necessary to turn off the units when not in use.
One rather "interesting" thing happened with one of the "hot" buttons on the keyboard. Out of the box, they all operate more or less as expected (and you may want to configure some of them differently) but the "PC Power" button (top right of keyboard), configured to "Sleep" but my machine into an endless cycle of shut-down, restart, password entry, shut-down, ... that required a hard power down to get out of. Your milage of course may vary, but it might be worth disabling this button, or experimenting, carefully, to make sure it does what you need.
Physically, the keyboard is amazing. the "wave" form, with keys not only curved in a flat plane, but curved vertically as well, to fit the natural curve of fingers, once you are used to it, makes touch typing very much less tiring, and faster. Also, there do not seem to be the latency problem that I experienced with the Microsoft keyboard, which dropped letters id one typed faster than some limiting keystroke rate. So far, I have not been able to type fast enough to cause dropped letters. Of course if you are a one-finger, hunt-and-peck typist, this physical configuration and ability to handle fast typing will not matter.
