Great camera, but not all accessories are necessary

Great camera, but not all accessories are necessary
Right up front, I am not a professional photog . . . nor can I be considered an amateur photog. I just enjoy taking pictures. I also believe customer reviews are critical. I love shopping on Amazon and I value customer reviews, tremendously. I purchased this bundle to take a step up from my Panasonic Limux digital camera. I love the Panasonic, and have been using it for a couple of years. I enjoy taking macro pictures, but recently started taking pics of birds. I wasn’t getting the quality of pictures I wanted, so a friend told me that I really needed to step up to a DSLR camera. She recommended a Nikon, but the ones she recommended were well over $1,000! Not wanting to spend a paycheck on camera (or get into trouble with my wife), I opted for the Canon Rebel T6. This is the base model, and it really is all that I need. The reason I picked this bundle is b/c the price seemed good ($549) and it comes with a lot of accessories. After receiving the camera, I took everything out, and gave it a once-over to make sure all was good, and accounted for. The reason I give this bundle a 3-star rating is not b/c the camera is bad or cheap. I give it a 3-star rating b/c much of the bundled accessories are either not necessary for what I am doing, or the quality is not really that great. The best parts of the bundle are: 1) camera body (obviously), 2) standard lens, 3) zoom lens (this is great for bird pics), 4) extra battery, 5) battery charger, 6) two 32GB memory cards, 7) macro lenses, and 8) the shutter remote. The less than great parts of the bundle are: 1) the extra battery charger (I have to fiddle with it to get it in the right position so it will charge, if not it will show a green light, indicating it’s charged when it’s not), 2) the tripod (seems VERY flimsy, and almost fell over a few times when I had the camera mounted), 3) the two lens attachments (these did very little to extend the range of the lens or to magnify it for macro shots), 4) the external flash attachment (this is thin plastic and the attached guide sheet is peeling off), 5) lens filter attachments (don’t seem to make much of a positive difference in the pics I’ve taken). All of that said, I really love this camera. I decided to spend a little extra money and get a good tripod and I upgraded the memory cards to two faster 64GB cards. If you are just getting into photography and want a great starter DSLR, I can recommend this camera. I have attached two pictures, both taken side-by-side, where I took a picture of a bird flying to the feeder. Both cameras were on tripods with the setting on action, and zoomed in to the maximum. You can immediately tell how much more clear the Canon picture is compared to the Panasonic.

I love, love, LOVE this kit! I ordered it wearily after some mixed reviews. I've always shot with nikon so this is all new for me.
I opened the camera box and was panicked thinking it was a previously used camera because I couldn't find a battery in the box. It was there, I just wasn't looking hard enough. The box was sealed and looked like a factory packed box, but I was still afraid. Before I found the battery, I called Canon tech support and discovered this third part seller (PAGING ZONE) is an authorized seller, so if I ever have a problem with the camera, the warranty is fully intact! So GOOD NEWS for me!
The reviews about the tripod were on point... The tripod is ultra lightweight and not really good for much more than table top photography... Even then, BE CAREFUL.
The wide angle lenses, was worried they sent me the wrong size, but when I attach any of the lens filters, it fits like a glove... So use a filter. As far as a review involving it breaking the lens, if it doesn't fit smoothly, don't force it. Try removing and rethreading. The only other complaint I have is the sd card reader... It is just a hair too big to fit in the usb drive. I don't know how that happens...
The flash is a little weird, but I'm still learning how to use this one....
    So!
    Pros:
-Camera is from an authorized seller
-All the lenses and filters fit
-SD cards and extra battery (and charger) work perfectly
    -this camera takes lovely shots!
-The WI-FI transfer to phone or computer it AWESOME!

    Cons:
    -Cruddy tripod
-USB card reader is a hair too big to fit my USB port...

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome first DSLR
Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2018
This is a great kit for those looking to upgrade from a crossover to a DSLR or those who used mid range film SLRs back in the day and, like me, have been waiting for years to be able to afford a DSLR.

You get everything you need to get started in both basic high quality photography and also doing those things that a crossover just *cannot* do, esp long exposures where the shutter is locked. As someone who loves night photography, light trails and painting with light, I'm in love with this camera.

All that said, this kit isn't perfect. The tripod is, simply put, total crap. I used it reluctantly, but kept a good hold on the camera the whole time. It might not be horrible as a tabletop or with the first legs extended, but plan on buying a real tripod. Likewise, the card reader is cheesy. Not really a problem, as the cable works great.

As for the case, while you can get the camera body, both lenses, both lens extensions, the flash, the filters, the shutter release and even a flexible leg mini tripod in if you are creative, you will absolutely have to move *everything* to get to *anything*. It's not too bad if you are wearing the camera and one lens around your neck, otherwise you will want a bigger bag.

These are my first pics with this camera, just messing around. None used a flash.
